No pencils allowed

Ashley Wood mentioned on his
blog that he doesn't use pencils
anymore. Straight to the pens.
He suggested everyone try it...
even if it doesn't work out for
you, it's still a good excersise.

So, I drew this without any pencil
underdrawing. It's not perfect as
a result, but I was surprised that
it came out even this good.

I always use pencil first. Usually
pretty loose, but just to get the
shape right, then I define it with
a pen and brush. So, it was kind
of scary to go without my usual
saftey net. Anyway, Ive kind of
found a new confidence in my
ability to get the lines out right
on the first pass. Thanks, Ash!
