Your possible pasts....

Narrowing down the possible titles
for 'the book'. The current list is:

Collectanea (which I really like)
Prodrome
Mélange (which I kinda like)
Farrago
Noise
Drift.

But I'm not married to anything
yet, and I'm still open to other
titles... keep the suggestions
coming guys.

I guess I'm doing art walk this
month after all, because it'll be
really busy and last month was
so slow that it doesn't matter if
I show the same stuff again.

I'm trying to get a new piece done,
but I don't know if I'll make it.

I'm listening to the brand new
Stars of the Lid record that
came out today and the newest
solo record from Jeremy Enigk.
I like it... but I've never not liked
his stuff so, no surprise there.

Which, collectanea? Yeah, it literally means; an anthology. Though, generally, I think, used for prose but, fuck it, you know?

yeah i think it works excellently because the dictionary term for it is 'a collection of works' and i don't see you getting a better and bigger word for your work.

A+

It's definitely work! I fucking love it with all my broken heart, but it's work none the less.

Plus it sounds cool.

ah, Stars of the Lid :)

That's a great drawing Sail! I love the cream and blue together. Have you thought about doing a drawing just like that (meaning all the same process), and then taking away your black lines, leaving just color to show your figure? Just curious how that might look. To me, this drawing seems a lot more built up than most of your work, like you're getting into modeling the form in shadows, like painting. The angle of the lower torso line makes me think that she's got a tail that's going to flick around her arm. The Collectanea word is cool. When I first read it, I was a little unsure it's meaning, and replaced it with "collectible" in my mind, which made me think of this beautiful drawing as a porceline doll on a shelf.

Yeah, I've done some stuff that is sans black lines but I'm never very happy with it. I'll fuck around with it more and post something like that soon. I go in and out of what's interesting to me... so, it's ever shifting. But I've been painting a bit mroe lately. Still getting the sea legs after not painting much lately. Inking hell and all. I love painting. And I've got that new watercolor moleskin to fill up. I'm always ridiculously nervous when starting a new book though.

The colors on this one are totally Photoshop. I had to remove the paper buckling and that's how the colors ended up after the adjustments. I liked it better than the coffee brown it started as... I still don't know why that blue came in, but I'm glad it did. Not a color combo I'd have ever thought of. God bless digital adjustments!

Also, I stuck Collectanea on the pic for no reason. It's got nothing to do with the drawing. The drawing was just a doodle I did while I was thinking about titles. Looks nice though
