Tramonto

A Hollywood starlet is
gruesomely murdered in
her hotel room. Now a
troubled detective must
fight the media blitz and
figure out who did it before
the murderer can kill again.

This is the original cover
concept, but the story is
different now so, I will be
redoing the cover... It'll
probably be similar though.

This is really amazing. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the color coming through on the windows in the background of the city. I understand it was for a reason, but I either feel like you don't need them or they should be the color of the girl....
just my 2 cents
Yeah, I tried making them white, but then they stood out too much and looked funny. If I was still using this cover, I'd just black them out.
Glad you like it though.
that's a pretty powerful image. I like the fact that there is no face (due to the fact that she's symbolizing death I suppose?) It's interesting to me that there is a plane in the sky, which makes more sense after remembering your previous thumbs. But if I just saw this cover and nothing else, it would get me wondering, and sensing a narrative in this one image.
It's great! A little morbid, but great!
Haven't been around in a while....your last four or five posts have all been top notch.
Everything looks great. I really like seeing the thumbnails...like everyone else apparently. It's nice to see how other people work.
My blogging feels inadequate when I come here and see all you've been up to.

Ester, I have no idea why there is a plane in there... I just thought it looked cool. You're thinking of Terminal. All the 'T' titles get confusing, yes?
And she had no face because who she was was part of the mystery. But that no longer applies. Yeah it's a little morbid... wait till you see the pages!
Thanks, Jeremy. My output would be far less if I was painting at the scale you do, or even doing any proper painting.
But yeah, get cracking!
Let them kill all the starlets they desire...why stop ? The plot sounds kind of normal ,the hotel room..and the troubled detective...maybe the story has some nice "turns" that will pop up...anyway this piece looks cool..that blood splatter adds a nice touch, and that little airplain is right on the spot not letting my eyes wander off.
Well if Tramonto is too normal for you, Terminal certainly wont be.
