I spend most of the time working the form out on a sheet of paper. Once I have a form I like, I light table a clean version of that, and start adding the details. I'd say this took about 2 hours total. 1 hour for the form and facial details, and about a half hour - 45 min for the final inked version.
I should say that this isn't really a 'sketch' so much as it's just one of the styles I like to work in. I'd call this a final drawing, it's sorta for a project I wanna do... it goes with the other smoking guys. Hence the orange.
